Over the past four years, Decatur and Huntsville have taken turns as the metro with the best unemployment rate in Alabama.

In the most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Decatur metro narrowly bested Huntsville, as it has in 12 of the previous 44 months. The two metros were joint best for 12 of those months.
