In-N-Out’s plans will be good news for anyone who wants iconic burger chain here

Could iconic West Coast burger chain In-N-Out finally be making plans for a push along the East Coast? It certainly seems that way, according to a recent social media announcement from the restaurant.

In a social media message, In-N-Out indicated its new plans for Tennessee could open up the East Coast – and the South – to further development.

“In-N-Out is building a distribution center in Tennessee, estimated to be completed in early 2026. In-N-Out will consider opening stores further east once it has a patty-making facility within 300 miles of any new restaurant. There’s hope for the East Coast.”

In a later message, In-N-Out provided more explanation on its growth plans.

“You won’t find a SINGLE freezer at any In-N-Out restaurants. The “quality you can taste” is not a marketing gimmick. All ingredients are delivered fresh to the restaurants,” the chain said in a message posted to X. “This also explains why In-N-Out isn’t fast to expand. Restaurants must be within a proximity to receive fresh ingredients.”

In-N-Out is opening its first locations in Tennessee starting with Nashville in 2026 and then expanding to Chattanooga and Knoxville, Local 3 News reported. It is also building a 100,000-square-foot office in Franklin, Tenn. to house corporate staff.

Future locations are planned for Clarksville, Cookeville, Memphis, Tri-Cities, Morristown and Jackson, Tenn.

Currently, In-N-Out Burger has restaurants in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, Nevada, Oregon and Utah.
