No. 3 seed Illinois – with Terrence Shannon Jr. – opens its NCAA Tournament play against No. 14 Morehead State on Thursday, March 21. The game will be live streamed on Sling (half off first month) and DirecTV Stream (free trial).

The Illini’s biggest star was nowhere to be found during the team’s March Madness media availability the day.

Shannon has been the invisible man everywhere except on the basketball court since he was charged with rape or an alternative count of sexual battery in Kansas in December stemming from an alleged incident in September. He hasn’t spoken to the media since.

Shannon averaged 34 points per game while earning Most Outstanding Player honors in the Big Ten Tournament. No player in the country who appeared in more than one game in a conference tournament had a higher average.

Marcus Domask is averaging 16 points and 3.7 assists for the Fighting Illini. Shannon is averaging 23 points over the past 10 games.

Riley Minix is shooting 54.6% and averaging 20.8 points for the Eagles. Kalil Thomas is averaging 14.3 points over the last 10 games.
