IKEA plans 8 new U.S. stores
IKEA plans to spend about $2.2 billion to expand in the U.S. over the next three years, according to company.
The ready-to-make furniture company will add eight new large stores in the U.S. in addition to nine more plan and order points, USA Today reported. IKEA is also planning 900 pick-up locations for online purchases.
The locations of the new stores hasn’t been announced but USA Today reported the stores will be launched in cities where the company already has a presence, as well as new markets. A spokesperson told CNN the company intends to build up its presence on the east and west coasts, as well as in the southern part of the country.
IKEA currently has 50 stores across the country. Founded in Sweden in 1943, Ikea is the world’s largest furniture retailer.
