Huntsville’s newest city councilman David Little gets ready to take his seat

David Little will be sworn in as Huntsville’s newest city councilman on Monday.

He replaces Frances Akridge as the District 2 representative on the City Council. Akridge did not seek reelection. He will be sworn in during a ceremony at City Hall at 4 p.m. with District 3 Councilwoman Jennie Robinson, who ran unopposed, and District 4 Councilman Bill Kling, who won reelection.

Little recently participated in a question and answer session with the Lede about taking his place on the council.

Can you share about your background for Huntsville residents who may not know a lot about you?

I was born and raised in Huntsville. My wife Mimi and I have three children, Caroline, 21; Layne, 19; and Grey, 16. I have been involved in the community for a long time, serving on the boards of Heals, Inc, Leadership Greater Huntsville, and Huntsville Rotary Club. In 2010, I was appointed to the newly created Huntsville Police Citizens Advisory Council, which has been an Important commitment these last 12 years.
