Huntsville to hold public meetings about $400 million Mill Creek redevelopment

Huntsville residents will have the opportunity to weigh in on the $400 million Mill Creek revitalization this week.

The city of Huntsville and the Huntsville Housing Authority will be hosting meetings next week about plans to redevelop property along Governors Drive near the downtown core not far from the Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment Center in a neighborhood that has been the home of public housing at Butler Terrace and Johnson Towers.

The project will also be near the city’s revitalization project that includes a suspension pedestrian bridge known as Skybridge and the creation of a linear park that also includes flood mitigation for the downtown area.

Three meetings are planned to discuss the Choice Neighborhood Initiative (CNI), a project led by the Housing Authority and City’s Urban Development Office. Dates, times and locations are:
