Huntsville teen killed in tractor-trailer collision

A Huntsville teen was killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle collision with a tractor-trailer in Russell County, state troopers said.

Emma G. Howard, 19, was fatally injured when the 2020 Jeep Wrangler she was driving struck the rear end of a 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, according to Lt. Jeremy J. Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Howard was pronounced dead on the scene.

The incident happened about 5:15 a.m. on U.S. 431, about 25 miles south of Phenix City, near the 90-mile marker, troopers said.

No further information was available as troopers continue to investigate.
