Huntsville police found a suspect dead following an investigation into a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital on Saturday night, the HPD said in a statement to AL.com.

Police were dispatched around 10 p.m. Saturday and arrived at 1010 Healthland Dr. to find a woman in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound. She was later transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police located the suspected shooter’s vehicle in the area of Memorial Parkway and University Drive.

The suspect fled from police and stopped in a parking lot at 4710 University Dr., where the police found the suspect dead. HPD did not provide cause of death.

Huntsville Police are still investigating the incident.
