Huntsville school board on target for Tuesday superintendent vote

The Huntsville City Board of Education remains on target to vote Tuesday on a new superintendent after interviewing the three finalists for the job on Thursday.

“They can change their mind if they so choose, but I haven’t heard that they will,” Huntsville City Schools attorney Christopher Pape said.

The vote is on the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting at Huntsville High School. The finalists answered 10 questions from school board members during their interviews.

The board is set to choose between Clarence Sutton, chief of staff for the system, who is currently serving as interim superintendent; Birmingham City Schools Chief Academic and Accountability Officer Jermaine Dawson and Bren Elliot, chief of school Improvements and supports at D.C. Public Schools.
