Huntsville police arrest second suspect in deadly Lakeview Drive shooting

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) today charged Erica Lashawn Baker, 31, of Huntsville with murder in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on Lakeview Drive earlier this month.

Around 5 a.m. on Nov. 17, HPD officers responded to the 3000 block of Lakeview Drive for a shooting, where they located James Grays, 35, of Huntsville, with a gunshot wound. Grays was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a previous release.

Earlier this week HPD also charged Kiarah Donque Jones, 34, of Huntsville, with murder after gathering evidence from the scene.

Following an extensive investigation and consultation with the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, it was decided to issue an additional murder warrant for Baker on Monday, Nov. 25.

Baker was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 22.

HPD will now shift its focus to working with the Madison County District Attorney’s Office to ensure the successful prosecution of this murder, according to today’s release.
