Huntsville man sentenced to 30 years for killing wife with a claw hammer
A Madison County man who authorities say used a claw hammer to kill his wife last year has pleaded guilty to murder charges.
Ronnie Scott Cupps, 40, of Huntsville, was charged with murder in connection with the death of Teresa Cupps, 52.
According to WAFF, Cupps was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Huntsville police found Teresa Cupps’ body at a residence in the 2000 block of Boardman Street on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022 while performing a welfare check at about 4 p.m.
Police said she died as a result of blunt force trauma. Investigators believe a domestic dispute led to her death.
In court documents last year, prosecutors said Ronnie Cupps struck Teresa Cupps in the head and face with a claw hammer.
