Huntsville man gets 40 year sentence in 2020 murder
A Huntsville man Thursday pleaded guilty to murder in the July 2020 shooting death of a man in a car.
Tayveon Doron Markei Sanderson, 22, was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder charges.
Sanderson was arrested following the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Sanchez Leslie, on July 26, 2020 in a vehicle on Jordan Lane, just south of Mastin Lake Road.
Investigators said following his arrest that the shooting happened during a dispute between Sanderson and Leslie.
Sanderson’s ex-girlfriend was in the vehicle with Leslie at the time of the shooting, but was unharmed.
Sanderson had originally been charged with capital murder before the plea.
