Huntsville man faces capital murder charge following Saturday shooting

A Huntsville man faces capital murder charges after a fatal shooting early Saturday morning.

Jamarious Beatty, who turned 24 on Saturday, surrendered to authorities in at the city’s Public Safety Complex at 9 a.m. Monday.

Beatty was arrested in connection with a shooting incident on Saturday. He is being held in the Madison County Jail without bond.

Officers responded to the parking lot of 3750 Alabama 53, shortly before 2:30 a.m. They found Isaac Augusta Young, 26, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Young was transported to the hospital where he died.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation earlier in the evening.

Police are continuing to investigate.
