Huntsville police say a man drove the wrong way down Memorial Parkway Tuesday night and struck a police vehicle.

According to police spokesperson Sydney Martin, a patrol car driving southbound on Memorial Parkway near Airport Road around 11:25 p.m. encountered a vehicle going north.

The vehicle, driven by Adam Mark Hawkins, 47, collided with the patrol vehicle. Two officers were inside at the time.

Hawkins and the two officers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Martin said Hawkins was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and driving without a license.

He is being held in the Madison County Jail.
