Huntsville International Airport sets another monthly record: How many are flying HSV?
Huntsville International Airport has broken a second monthly record for passenger volume this year, newly released data from the Port of Huntsville shows, putting the airport on course for a second consecutive record year.
In May, 148,792 passengers passed through the airport, eclipsing the previous high-water mark of 137,372 passengers who flew in or out in March, Mary Swanstrom, public relations director for HSV, wrote in an email to The Huntsville Times.
This year’s surge follows 2023’s record-breaking year of 1.47 million passengers, itself the highest yearly total since the 1.445 million passengers in 2019 — before air travel tanked worldwide during the coronavirus pandemic.
