Huntsville firm wins $9 million award for hypersonic missile research
A Huntsville company will use a $9 million contract to help develop “game-changing” approaches to dealing with the emerging threat of hypersonic missiles.
A hypersonic missile is defined by its speed – five times the speed of sound (Mach-5) or higher.
Under the award, Concordia Technologies will “continue the development, enhancement, analysis, and characterization of game-changing hypersonic threat design and engagement scenarios” for the Missile Defense Agency, according to a Defense Department contract award posting.
