The Huntsville City Council voted on Thursday to commit more than $2.3 million in federal funding for a 42-unit housing project for the homeless, formerly homeless and victims of domestic violence.

“This item is a further step in our process to address affordable housing within our community,” Community Development Manager Scott Erwin said before the vote.
