Huntsville capital murder suspect caught in Texas, authorities say
A man suspected of capital murder in Huntsville was caught in Wednesday in Texas after nearly two months on the run, authorities said Thursday.
Travis Blackburn, 42, was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Jacobley Moore, 31.
Moore was found shot on Fairview Farm Way around 2 a.m. Dec. 11 and later died of his injuries.
Blackburn was apprehended near Austin, Texas on Wednesday, by the U.S. Marshals Service’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, said Huntsville Police Department spokeswoman Sydney Martin.
Blackburn was booked into the Williamson County Jail in Georgetown, Texas.
He is expected to be extradited to Huntsville “at a later date” and booked into the Madison County Jail on the capital murder charge, Martin said.
