Huntsville-area stock among the few in the positive

A relatively flat day on Wall Street did not translate to our Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report as all but five stocks took a loss on Thursday.

Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, the California-based company with an operating location in Huntsville and an Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Toney, was one of the few in the positive.

It rose .8%, or 42 cents, to close at $54.91, drawing close to its 52-week high of $56.80.

Amazon was the big winner on the day, however, pulling up 4.3%.

Amazon has several operations sites with thousands of employees across Alabama, including Bessemer, Huntsville, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery and Theodore.

Banking stocks took the worst of it Thursday. Synovus, Regions and PNC dropped 4%, 3.1% and 2.5%, respectively.
