Wall Street was down, but there were more winners than losers Thursday on our Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report.

Area notables Carpenter Technology (+6.7%) and Constellium (+4%) led the gainers.

A quartet of banks was next: PNC (+2.8%), Synovus (+2.7%), Regions (+2.6%) and Southern States (+2.2%).

Sanmina wasn’t too far off with a 1.9% gain.

At the bottom, Adtran was down 2.5%.

Overall, Wall Street tumbled Thursday, dropping nearly 10% below its high mark for the year, after big-name companies warned an uncertain global economy may hurt their profits.
