Hugh Freeze, other Auburn football coaches will appear in EA Sports video game

The hype for EA Sports’ latest college football video game picked up this week when it released the official trailer. Now, Auburn fans specifically have a feature to be excited about.

Head coach Hugh Freeze, offensive coordinator Derrick Nix and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin will all be in EA Sports College Football 26, Auburn announced on X (formerly Twitter) Friday afternoon.

According to a report from the Athletic, not all coaches will be featured in the game, most notably North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. The Athletic also reported that coaches will be available across game modes and can be moved to different schools

The game is set to be released on July 10 and can be pre-ordered before the game comes out on the Xbox Series X and S and the PlayStation 5.

It’s the second year in a row EA Sports has produced a college football video game, following a 10-year hiatus after NCAA Football 14. Last year’s game, however, didn’t feature any of the real-life coaches.
