Hugh Freeze announces signing of transfer LB Dorian Mausi from Duke

In a surprise announcement during his National Signing Day press conference, Hugh Freeze announced Auburn has landed the commitment of Duke transfer linebacker Dorian Mausi.

Mausi has been a consistent starter at Duke over the last three season, and has played 44 games over the last four seasons. He has 193 total tackles in four seasons and 8.5 for loss.

He is the third transfer of Auburn’s 2024 group after wide receiver Robert Lewis and defensive tackle Gage Keys.

Mausi, a Detroit native, has signed, according to Freeze, but Auburn has not officially announced his signing.

Auburn needed another middle linebacker even with the return of Eugene Asante, Austin Keys and Cam Riley. Larry Nixon II is the biggest loss from the positon group, but it is one without much depth.

Mausi, like Asante and Keys both did, will arrive at Auburn as a transfer already with a significant amount of experience.
