HS volleyball update: Bob Jones wins Juanita Boddie tournament, more results

Bob Jones won 10 straight matches to start the AHSAA volleyball season, including winning its first Juanita Boddie tournament title on Saturday.

The Class 7A second-ranked Patriots opened the season with straight set wins over rivals Huntsville and Grissom before storming through the Boddie in impressive fashion. Bob Jones dropped only one set in best-of-three play, beating Class 6A third-ranked Mountain Brook 2-1 in semifinal action.

Bob Jones swept Class 4A fourth-ranked Orange Beach, Columbus, (Ga.), Shades Valley and Class 7A fifth-ranked Chelsea in pool play, qualifying for the Gold bracket elimination tournament.

The Patriots beat Class 5A second-ranked Montgomery Academy, Class 7A top-ranked and defending class champion McGill-Toolen, Mountain Brook and Class 6A top-ranked and defending class champion Bayside for the title.

It’s the first time the Patriots have reached the Boddie title match, and only win, since falling to Huntsville in 2009.

Kennedy Vaughn led the offense with 94 kills, adding 9 blocks, 15 digs and 6 aces while Meg Jarrett had 77 digs, 9 aces and 21 assists. Eliza Tyrrell added 46 kills, 9 aces and 17 blocks, Riley Lovell had 111 assists, 37 digs and 10 aces and Rachel Mecklenburg had 84 assists, 29 kills and 34 digs.

CLASS 7A

Top-ranked McGill-Toolen (6-1) beat Spain Park to open the season and was 5-1 at the Boddie, beating Albertville, Hartselle, McAdory, Vestavia Hills and Montgomery Catholic before losing to Bob Jones in quarterfinal play.

Senior Libero Juliet Galla had 5 aces, a 2.2 passer rating, 49 digs and 6 assists, senior setter Mamie Fromdahl had 5 kills, 53 assists and 5 blocks and senior Emma Moore had 4 aces, 27 kills, 7 blocks and 6 digs.

Third-ranked Enterprise (3-2) beat Providence Christian in regular season play and was 2-2 at the Boddie, beating Seckinger (Ga.) and Priceville and losing to Arab in poll play. The Wildcats fell to St. Paul’s in Gold Bracket play.

Alivia Freeman had 22 blocks, Virginia Townsend had 6 aces, Heather Holtz had 93 assists, Karis Snell had 19 digs, Jadyn Britton had 11 digs, Jadyn Britton had 42 kills, Abigail Wiggins had 26 kills and Morgan Williams had 19 kills.

Fourth-ranked Hoover (7-3) beat Daphne and James Clemens in regular season play and was 5-3 at the Boddie. The Bucs beat Athens and Southside-Gadsden and lost to Jasper and Fairhope in pool play and beat Priceville, Oak Mountain and Lawrence County before falling to Buckhorn in the Silver Bracket championship.

Kendyl Mitchell had 68 digs, 60 kills 5 blocks and 7 aces, Olivia Guenster had 130 digs and 14 aces, Addison Bentley had 58 digs, 11 aces and 83 assists and Madi Lopez had 41 digs, 4 aces and 70 assists.

Fifth-ranked Chelsea (3-3) lost to Thompson in regular season play and was 3-2 at the Boddie, beating Shades Valley, Orange Beach and Columbus (Ga.) and losing to Bob Jones in poll play and fell to Spanish Fort in Gold Bracket play.

Lauren Buchanan had 9 aces, 48 kills, 6 assists, 23 digs and 4 blocks, Kaleigh Hall had 12 blocks and 21 kills and Mary Kendyl Dojonovic had 13 aces, 35 assists and 28 digs.

Sixth-ranked Spain Park (3-3) lost to McGill-Toolen in regular season play and was 3-2 at the Boddie. The Jaguars beat Gulf Shores, Fort Payne and Austin and lost to Montgomery Academy in pool play then fell to Vestavia Hills in Gold Bracket action.

Megan Ingersoll had 58 kills, 17 aces, 6 digs and 4 blocks, Cailyn Kyes had 100 assists, 11 aces, 10 digs and 5 kills, Reagan Gilbert had 28 kills, 11 aces and 19 digs and Alexa Benda had 18 kills and 9 blocks.

Eighth-ranked Vestavia Hills (5-3) split its opening-day tri-match, beating St. Paul’s and losing to Pelham and beat McAdory, Albertville and Spain Park in Boddie play, losing to McGill -Toolen, and Mountain Brook.

Jordan Madsen led the offense with 45 kills and hitting .291 for the weekend while Millie Burgess had 34 kills and a team-leading 17 aces and Audrey Vielguth contributed 55 digs.

Ninth-ranked Thompson (7-1) beat Chelsea in regular season play and was 6-1 at the River City Classic in Bartlett (Tenn.). The Warriors beat Dyer County (Tenn.), Hazel Green, Lake Commarant (Miss.), SMS (Miss.) twice and Stewart’s Creek (Tenn.) before losing to Marion (Ark.) in the championship match.

Chloe Middlestat had 85 kills with a .416 hitting percentage, 17 aces and 32 digs.

No. 10 Oak Mountain (3-4) lost to Bayside in regular season play and was 3-3 in Boddie action, beating Baker, Northridge and Hewitt-Trussville and losing to James Clemens, Brandon (Miss.) and Hoover.

Lauren Schuessler had 6 aces, 60 kills with a .279 hitting percentage, 34 assists and 30 digs, Mabrey Whitehead had 12 aces — she surpassed 100 in her career), a 2.10 passer rating, 30 kills with a .205 hitting percentage), 1 4 assists and 40 digs.

Auburn (4-5) lost to Prattville Christian in regular season play and was 4-4 in Boddie play, beating Mary Montgomery, Daphne, Hartselle and Gulf Shores and losing to Spanish Fort, Homewood, Germantown (Tenn.) and Buckhorn in the Silver Bracket semifinal.

Leah Beason had 55 kills, Mackenzie Farr had 40 kills and Kambell Fetner had 33 kills.

Austin (0-6) fell to Deshler and Muscle Shoals in regular season play and lost to Montgomery Academy, Gulf Shores, Fort Payne and Spain Park in Dobbie action.

Abby Lindsey had 5 blocks, 59 digs, 3 aces and 10 kills in Boddie action while Amari Woods had 7 blocks, 63 digs, 7 aces and 11 kills.

Daphne (2-5) beat James Clemens and lost to Hoover in regular season play 1-4 in the Boddie, beating St. Michael and losing to Mountain Brook, Montgomery Catholic, Buckhorn and Auburn.

Ella Lomax had 58 kills with a .223 Hitting percentage, 56 digs, 5 aces with a 1.98 serve-receive rating, Anna Grace Chason had 28 kills with a .228 Hitting percentage, 33 digs, 24 assists and 4 blocks and Grace Thigpen had 57 assists, 19 digs and 7 aces.

Fairhope (4-2) beat Southside-Gadsden, Hoover, Athens and James Clemens in Boddie action and lost to Jasper and Bayside.

Sparkman (5-2) beat Florence and Cullman in regular season play and was 3-2 in the River City Classic in Bartlett, Tenn. The Senators beat Tennessee teams

Southside, SBA and White Station and lost to Lipscomb and Hazel Green.

Daena Perkins had 96 assists while Allahna Lucas had 67 digs and Cianna Byrd had 40 kills, 21 digs and 15 aces.

St. Paul’s (6-2) beat Pelham and lost to Vestavia Hills in regular season play and was 6-1 at the Boddie. The Saints beat Briarwood, Lawrence County, St. John Paul II and Northwest Rankin (Miss.) in pool play and beat Enterprise before falling to Bayside in Gold Bracket action.

Clarissa Dupree had 62 kills with a .473 hitting percentage, 10 aces, 8 blocks, 31 digs and a 1.86 serve-receive rating while Sydney Conrad had 37 kills with a .229 hitting percentage, 9 aces, 38 digs and a 1.78 serve-receive rating and Janie Ford had 27 kills with a .389 hitting percentage, 7 digs and 16 blocks.

CLASS 6A

Top-ranked Bayside (8-1) beat Oak Mountain in regular season play and was 7-1 at the Boddie, beating Hewitt-Trussville, Grissom, Pelham and Baylor (Tenn.) in pool play. The Admirals beat Fairhope, St. Paul’s and Brandon (Miss.) in Gold Bracket action, falling to Bob Jones in the title match.

Blakeley Robbins had 9 aces, 164 assists and 36 kills while Maysie Douglas had 45 kills, 36 digs and 14 aces and Haley Robinson had 50 kills and 10 blocks.

Second-ranked Spanish Fort (5-2) lost to Mountain Brook in regular season play and was 4-1 in the Boddie, beating Homewood, Auburn, Mary Montgomery and Germantown (Tenn.) in poll play then beat Chelsea before falling to Mountain Brook in Gold Bracket quarterfinal action.

Alexis Belarmino had 129 assists, 26 digs, 18 kills and 3 aces, Reece Varden had 53 kills, 6 blocks and 7 digs and Carlyn McAllister had 52 digs, 26 kills, 5 blocks and 11 aces.

Third-ranked Mountain Brook (7-1) beat Spanish Fort in regular season play and was 6-1 at the Boddie. The Spartans beat St. Michael, Montgomery Catholic, Daphne and Buckhorn in pool play and beat Vestavia Hills and Spanish Fort in Gold Bracket action before falling to champion Bob Jones in semifinal play.

Ava Gillis had 6 aces, 19 assists and 76 digs, Hannah Parant had 7 aces, 33 kills, 8 blocks, 155 assists and 59 digs and Paige Parant had 8 aces, 49 kills, 2 blocks and 56 digs.

Fifth-ranked Pelham (3-4) beat Vestavia Hills and lost to St. Paul’s to open the season and was 2-3 at the Boddie, beating Grissom and Hewitt-Trussville and losing to Bayside, Baylor (Tenn.) and Northridge.

Junior outside hitter Londyn Wynn had 32 kills, 7 blocks, 34 digs, 7 blocks and 4 aces, junior setter Kylee Hester had 122 assists and 3 aces and junior outside hitter Camryn McMinn had 59 kills, 5 blocks, 36 digs and 6 aces.

Sixth-ranked Homewood (4-2) beat John Carroll opening night and was 3-2 at the Boddie, beating Germantown (Tenn.), Auburn and Mary Montgomery and losing to Spanish Fort in pool play before falling to Montgomery Catholic in bracket play.

Mira McCool led the Patriots with 49 kills, 20 digs, 11 aces and 5 blocks while Abby Przybysz added 36 kills, 33 digs, 3 aces and 2 blocks and Kam Coleman had 85 assists, 27 digs, 9 aces, 4 kills and 2 blocks.

Eighth-ranked Saraland (2-0) beat Davidson and UMS-Wright to open the season.

Bre Hughes had 18 digs, 2 assists and 2 aces while Sophia Saxon had 32 assists, 3 kills and 13 digs, Charlie Pearce had 15 kills, 4 aces, 2 blocks, 3 assists and 5 digs and Hannah Pearce had 15 kills, 2 aces and 13 digs.

No. 10 Cullman (1-1) beat Florence and lost to Sparkman as Juliana Brannon had 19 kills and Ava Ray had 16 kills.

Briarwood (4-3) beat Altamont and Calera in regular season play and was 2-3 in Boddie action. The Lions beat St John Paul II and Lawrence County and lost to St. Paul’s and Northwest Rankin (Miss.) in pool play and fell to Baylor (Tenn.) in Gold bracket play.

Stella Helms had 13 aces, 26 kills and 37 digs, Julie Roberts had 5 aces, 24 kills and 28 digs and Colleen Lehane had 10 aces, 27 digs and 54 assists.

Buckhorn (8-2) beat Brewer and Decatur in regular season play and was 6-2 at the Boddie. The Bucks beat St. Michael and Daphne and lost to Mountain Brook and Montgomery Catholic in pool play then beat Fort Payne, Columbus (Ga.), Auburn and host Hoover to win the Silver Bracket title.

Addison Layne had 72 assists — she surpassed 1,000 career assists — and 8 aces, Hannah Shafer had 32 kills and 8 aces and McKenna Phillips had 26 kills and 10 blocks.

Helena beat McAdory to open the season as Addison Dockery had 10 kills, 2 aces and 3 digs, Kylie Scoles had 20 assists, 3 digs and 2 aces and Cammie Pugh had 10 digs and 2 aces.

Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa (5-2) beat Fairfield, Northside, Fayette County and LAMP in Central-Tuscaloosa’s Falcon Frenzy and lost to Lamar County and Corner.

Caroline Rogan had 22 kills, 3 blocks and 4 aces while Kameryn Browne had 25 kills, 3 blocks and 5 aces and Brooke Benham had 8 kills, 7 blocks and 5 aces.

Muscle Shoals (6-1) beat Deshler and Austin in regular season play and beat Rogers, Lindsay Lane, Collinwood (Tenn.) and West Morgan before falling to host Central-Florence in the title match of its Wildcat Serve-Off.

Audrey Johnson had 36 kills, Chloe Wyatt had 71 assists, 16 kills, 20 digs and 10 aces and Leilah Mennes had 51 digs and 5 aces.

Northridge (6-3) beat Paul Bryant and Hueytown to open the season and was 4-3 at the Boddie, beating James Clemens, Baker, Southside-Gadsden and Pelham and losing to Brandon (Miss.), Oak Mountain and Lawence County.

Megan Fairburn had 113 assists, Kate Wilkin had 13 blocks and 37 kills and Elise Fulgham had 35 kills.

Pike Road (5-1) lost to Montgomery Academy in regular season play then won Prattville Christian’s Panther Classic, beating Beat Stanhope Elmore, Westminster-Oak Mountain, Brewbaker Tech, Demopolis and Prattville Christian.

Taylor Robinson had 32 kills, 9 digs and 3 aces, Allie Lovrich had 24 kills and 14 digs and Brely Dees had 27 digs, 7 assists and 6 aces.

CLASS 5A

Top-ranked Arab (3-1) beat Seckinger (Ga.), Priceville and Enterprise and lost to Jasper in Boddie action as Laney Kelley had 29 kills and 5 aces, Lexi Mann had 17 kills and 5 blocks, Millie Lackey had 64 assists, 4 aces and 10 kills and Bennett Elrod had 20 kills and 15 digs.

Second-ranked Montgomery Academy (4-2) opened the season with a win over Pike Road and was 3-2 in the Boddie, beating Austin, Gulf Shores and Spain Park and losing to Fort Payne in pool play. The Eagles lost to champion Bob Jones in eliminations.

Senior setter Addi Vinson had 125 assists, 29 digs, 9 aces, 7 blocks and 5 kills while junior outside hitter Elle McBride had 59 kills, 25 digs, 7 aces and 3 blocks and junior outside hitter Caroline McDaniel had 34 kills, 5 blocks and 8 digs.

Third-ranked Jasper (6-1) opened the season with a win over Tuscaloosa County and was 5-1 at the Boddie, beating Southside-Gadsden, Athens, Fairhope and Hoover in pool play then beating Arab in eliminations before falling to Brandon (Miss.) in quarterfinal action.

Ally Grace Salors had 54 kills, 54 digs and 8 blocks, Alayna Hattaway had 61 kills, 47 digs, 8 aces and 9 blocks, Emma Rigsby had 103 assists, Terria McElrath had 24 kills and 19 blocks, Lilly Waldrop had 14 aces, and Mia Harbin had 13 aces.

Fourth-ranked Westminster Christian (3-2) lost to Randolph to open the season and was 3-1 at Curry’s Smith Lake Classic, beating beat Meek, beat Hatton and Dora and losing to Tuscaloosa County.

Ella Anderson had 36 kills and 10 blocks and Paislee Shelton had 21 kills, 53 assists and 32 digs.

Seventh-ranked Alexandria (5-0) beat Lawrence County and Pleasant Valley to open the season and beat host Jacksonville, Sylacauga and Ohatchee in play at the CaroStrong Invitational. The Valley Cubs have yet to drop a set, compiling a 10-0 mark this season.

Eryn Spradley had 45 kills and 7 aces while Kailey Dickerson had 44 kills 20 digs.

Madison Academy (4-3) beat Priceville and lost to Central-Florence in regular season play then finished second at the Brewer Bash. The Mustangs beat Athens Bible, Columbia and Brewer and lost to DAR in pool play and in the championship match.

Isabelle Sutton had 51 kills, 9 aces and 46 digs, Sydney Privett had 23 kills and 9 aces and Molly Byrne had 108 assists and 3 aces.

West Point (2-0) beat Mortimer Jordan and Hanceville to open the season as Liberty Shadix had 9 kills, 5 blocks and 2 aces, Patton Fell had 26 assists, 5 aces and 3 digs and Charli Aris had 8 digs and 4 aces.

CLASS 4A

Top-ranked Trinity beat Orange Beach in its only match as Anna Moore had 13 kills, Holland Williams had 12 kills and 4 blocks and Isabel Hill had 15 digs and a 2.3 in serve-receive rating on 29 attempts.

Second-ranked Montgomery Catholic (5-2) beat Orange Beach in regular season play and was 4-2 at the Boddie, beating St. Michael, Buckhorn and Daphne and losing to Mountain Brook in pool play. The Knights beat Homewood in Gold Bracket action and lost to McGill-Toolen.

Mally Barranco had 63 digs and 6 aces, Harper Howell had 40 kills and 16 blocks, Zaria Rudolph had 36 kills, 37 digs and 8 blocks, Maria Schwarz had 4 kills, 26 assists, 7 aces and 2 blocks and Kathryn Reardon had 20 kills, 9 aces and 3 blocks.

Third-ranked Madison County (6-0) won Good Hope’s invitational on Saturday.

Addy Gustafson had 70 assists, 26 digs and 2 aces, Ava Gustafson had 16 aces, 25 kills and 14 blocks, Carleigh Lanford had 18 kills, 3 blocks and 10 digs, Allie Yeary had 28 digs, Laylah Sanders had 15 kills, 3 blocks and 4 aces, Shelby Hill had 14 kills and 2 blocks and Molly Kate Spicer had 17 digs.

Fifth-ranked New Hope (2-3) lost to Albertville in regular season play and beat Scottsboro and Lincoln and lost to Plainview and host Geraldine in the Liberty Bank Invitational.

Eevy Bellar had 63 kills, 11 aces, 6 blocks and 25 digs while Malaina Cloud had 39 kills, 11 aces, 70 assists and 25 digs and Rylee Jo Harbin had 47 digs and 6 aces.

Sixth-ranked UMS-Wright (1-1) beat Davidson and lost to Sarland as Noel Freeman had 11 kills and Chandler Thomas had 6 kills, 8 digs and Addison Prine had 11 digs, 2 aces and a 2.0 serve-receive rating.

Eighth-ranked Good Hope (7-1) beat Curry and East Lawrence to open the season and was 5-1 in its Good Hope Invitational, beating Montevallo, Sylvania, Decatur, Coosa Christian and Brooks before losing to Madison County in the championship.

Ivey Maddox had 19 aces, 74 kills and 60 digs, Campbell Koch had 11 aces, 9 kills, 26 digs and 137 assists, Makenzie Cruce had 18 aces and 36 digs, Emma Bailey had 12 aces and 47 digs, Charly Johnson had 9 aces, 22 kills and 13 digs, Jolee McHan had 35 kills, Molly Benefield had 20 kills and Carley Adams had 6 aces, 8 kills and 34 digs.

No. 10 Brooks (4-2) beat Colbert Heights in regular season play and beat Coosa Christian, Randolph and Sylvania and lost to Madison County and host Good Hope in semifinal play.

Maggie Jae Marsh had 47 kills, 45 assists, 8 aces and 8 digs at the tournament while Brylee Harrison had 27 kills and 5 blocks, Raney Wood had 49 assists and 5 aces and Emma Campbell had 41 digs, 4 aces and 9 assists.

Curry (6-2) beat East Lawrence and fell to Good Hope in regular season play and swept Carbon Hill, Sipsey Valley, Winston County, Cordova and Tuscaloosa County before losing to Addison in the title match of the Smith Lake Classic.

Adyson Brown had 42 kills, Aubrey Lackey had 74 digs and 17 aces and Kensley Horton had 24 kills and 14 aces.

Central-Florence (8-0) beat Madison Academy and Priceville in regular season play then won its Wildcat Serve-Off on Saturday. The Wildcats beat Colbert County, Winfield and West Morgan in pool play then downed Wilson Loretto (Tenn.) and Muscle Shoals for the title.

Chloe May had 151 assists and 27 aces, Callie Beth Wright had 56 kills and Kinsley DiStefano had 46 kills and 20 aces.

DAR (5-0) opened with a regular season win over Scottsboro and beat Athens Bible twice and Madison Academy twice to win the Brewer Bash Tournament.

Emily Reeves and 42 kills and 22 digs while Tana Osborne had 56 digs and a 2.03 serve-receive rating and Chloe Walker had 52 assists and 17 kills.

Geneva (4-2) beat New Brockton to open the season and was 3-1 at the Amelia Rhoades Set-Off Tournament in Kinston, beating Straughn, Brantley and New Brockton and losing to to Opp.

RayAnna Ausley had 11 aces, 18 assists, 46 kills and 35 digs and Aubree Lamb had 4 aces and 69 digs.

Jacksonville (3-3) beat Sylacauga and lost to Oxford to start the season and beat Weaver and Waler Wellborn and lost to Alexandria and Ohatchee in the CaroStrong Invitational.

Nyla Hoult had 36 kills, 2 blocks and 4 aces, Camryn Stone added 25 kills, 11 blocks and 15 and digs Sydney Soriano had 11 kills and 69 assists.

LAMP (4-1) beat Carver-Montgomery in regular season play and was 3-1 in Central-Tuscaloosa’s Falcon Frenzy. The Tigers beat Pickens County, American Christian Academy and Tuscaloosa Academy before losing to Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

Jailyn Dixon had 55 kills, 13 aces, 15 digs and 2 blocks in the tournament while Grayson Dickert had 35 assists, 3 aces and 5 digs, Eloise Wooden had 32 assists, 6 digs and 3 aces and Kayden Callahan had 5 aces and 19 digs.

Satsuma beat Mary Montgomery 3-2 in its only match of the week as Presleigh Montalvo had 2 aces, 3 blocks, 11 kills and 10, digs, Kaeden Enzor had 4 blocks, 10 kills and 10 digs and Shelby Smith had 16 digs.

West Morgan (4-2) beat Hatton and Haleyville in regular season play and was 2-2 in Central’s Wildcat Serve-Off, beating Colbert County and Winfield and losing to host Central-Florence and Muscle Shoals.

Brooklyn Hunt had 33 kills and 5 aces, Victoria Parrish had 27 kills and 3 aces and Alexandra Rodriguez had 57 assists and 5 aces.

CLASS 3A

Top-ranked Prattville Christian (5-1) opened the season with five wins before falling to Pike Road in the championship of its Panther Classic.

The Panthers beat Marbury, Demopolis and Isabella in pool play then downed Stanhope Elmore in eliminations before losing to Pike Road.

Natalee Wheeler had 21 digs, 2 assists and 9 aces, Emma Cate Carter had 21 kills, 4 blocks, 3 digs and 2 aces, Baylee Rogers had 65 assists, 7 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces, Jenna McClendon had 12 kills and 14 blocks, Baileigh Seale had 3 kills, 6 assists, 14 digs and 9 aces, Leah Cate Wilson had 27 kills and 5 blocks, Maren Diefenderfer had 6 kills, Kyra Sims had 11 kills and 7 blocks, Aiden Williams had 8 digs, Brylee Byrd had 10 digs and 3 aces and Morgan Fowler had 4 aces and 5 digs.

Ninth-ranked Mobile Christian beat Faith Academy to open the season as Alexis Scott had 13 digs and 4 aces, Melissa Patel had 11 digs and Melaina Haines had 14 kills, 12 digs and 9 assists.

No. 10 Susan Moore (2-0) beat Gaylesville and Brindlee Mountain to open the season as Lani Smallwood had 12 kills and Laura Duarte had 8 aces.

Cottage Hill beat Theodore to open the season as Ruby Steedley had 10 kills and Sarah Swearingen had 21 assists.

Lauderdale County (7-0) beat West Limestone and Rogers in regular season play then won its Serve-Off tournament on Saturday, beating West Limestone, East Limestone, Elkmont, Deshler and Clements.

Second-ranked Pleasant Valley (4-4) beat Lawrence County and lost to Alexandria in regular season play then beat Fairview in pool play of Geraldine’s Liberty Bank Invitational, but lost its setter to injury. The Raiders fell to Cherokee County and Geraldine and beat Lincoln and Scottsboro before falling to Fairview in the Silver Bracket final.

Allie Bryant had 118 assists — she filled in at setter — 20 kills, 11 aces, 33 digs and 5 blocks while Lily Henry had 63 kills, 10 aces, 33 digs and 9 blocks, Ella Parris had 26 kills, 3 aces, 36 digs and 14 blocks and Madison Schwabe had 32 kills, 3 aces, 44 digs and 3 blocks.

Fourth-ranked Lindsay Lane (2-3) lost to Clements 3-0 in regular season play and beat Rogers and Collinwood (Tenn.) and lost to Muscle Shoals in Central’s Wildcat Serve-Off pool play and lost to Loretto (Tenn.) in Gold Bracket action.

Lydia Carter had 25 kills and 46 digs, Ashleigh Sutterfield had 21 kills and 7 blocks and Kaylin Jones had 19 Kills and 5 blocks.

Fifth-ranked Sand Rock (4-3) beat Glencoe, Sylvania, Rockmart (Ga.) and Dade County (GA.) and lost to Georgia teams Gordon Lee Pepperell and Cedartown.

Katelyn St.Clair had 83 kills, 48 digs and 6 blocks, Chloe Stephens had 109 digs and 13 aces, Rylin St.Clair had 143 assists, Zoey Handy had 25 kills and 12 blocks and Bethany Davis had 29 kills, 52 digs and 9 aces.

Cornerstone School (6-1) beat Shelby County in regular season play then won Jemison’s Panther Classic on Saturday, beating Maplesville and Chilton County and losing to Prattville in poll play. Cornerstone beat Hale County and Chilton County to earn the title.

Kem Roscoe had 43 kills and 47 blocks, Kye Fincher had 41 kills and 32 blocks, Milia Skanes had 35 kills, Keriyana Prince had 72 assists and 18 aces and Milia Skanes had 53 digs.

Isabella (1-2) Beat Marbury and lost to Demopolis and Prattville Christian in its Panthers Classic on Saturday.

Erin Lawrence had 14 kills, Amelia Fjeldstad had 63 digs and Makayla Logan had 36 assists.

CLASS 1A

Top-ranked Addison (7-1) won the Smith Lake Classic at Curry, winning six matches to earn the title, beating Donoho, Sipsey Valley, Curry, Haleyville, Leeds, and Mortimer Jordan and beating Athens and losing to Hartselle in regular season play.

Senior setter Hadley Butler had 114 assists, 19 digs, 7 kills, 7 aces and 2 blocks while senior outside hitter Dacey Baker added 43 kills, 15 digs, 7 aces and 2 blocks and senior Libero Bailee Ory had 47 digs and 4 aces.

Third-ranked Athens Bible (1-4) lost to East Limestone in regular season play and lost to DAR, and Madison Academy in pool play and beat Decatur Heritage and lost to DAR in eliminations at the Brewer Bash.

Claire Holt had 18 kills, 18 blocks, 19 digs and 6 aces in the tournament while Anna Beth Burns had 25 assists.

Eighth-ranked University Charter (3-2) beat Hale County and Demopolis in regular season play and beat Sweet Water and lost to Washington County and Thomasville in the Thomasville Invitational.

Third-ranked Macon East (1-1) beat Chambers and lost to Glenwood as Jamya Powell had 25 kills, 8 blocks and 11 aces and Pressley Graham had 14 kills, 4 blocks, 45 assists and 10 aces.

Fifth-ranked Hooper Academy (4-0) beat Morgan Academy, Fort Dale and Abbeville last week.
