How to watch ‘Willie Nelson & Family’ docuseries, where to stream

The new four part docueries Willie Nelson & Family will be available to stream on-demand Thursday, Dec. 21.

Those who want to watch the premiere this week can stream the new docuseries exclusively with Paramount+.

Exploring the extraordinary life of one of the world’s most talented music icons, Willie Nelson & Family is the first and only authorized work about the groundbreaking, multi-hyphenate artist who is universally beloved by fans from all walks of life, according to a news release from Paramount Press.

The release states that the series delves into the unparalleled seven-decade career of Willie Nelson, 90, who has carved his rightful place among the greatest singer-songwriter and guitar players of all time, and underscores both his personal and professional highs and lows.

At turns spiritual, dramatic and playful, the film spotlights the badass American outlaw cowboy who transcended his humble beginnings in small-town Abbott, Texas, and speaks volumes through his lyrics and melodies, philanthropy, marijuana advocacy and activism on behalf of the American farmer.

Filmed throughout the country, Willie Nelson & Family traces back through time to weave perspectives from the artist’s actual and figurative families, including his children, sister Bobbie Nelson, fellow musicians, lifelong friends, producers, lawyers, booking agent, tour manager, driver, several Willie-ologists, concert goers and anyone who shaped or was shaped by the quintessential visionary.

What is Paramount+?

Paramount+ is the streaming platform perfectly catered to those who grew up in the 90′s and early 2000′s. It has all of the early Nickelodeon cartoons from Spongebob to Rocko’s Modern Life along with MTV hit shows such as Girl Code and Silent Library.

However, Paramount+ also offers a variety of new movie and TV shows from other channels such as the Smithsonian Channel, VH1, Comedy Central, BET and CBS along with its own original content.

After its free trial, those wanting to choose a monthly payment option can either select the essentials plan for $5.99 with limited ads or the Paramount+ with Showtime bundle for $11.99 without ads.

While the streaming service mostly provides on-demand content, those with a Paramount+ with Showtime can live stream certain shows and specials as it premieres on regular TV (typically those on CBS). This includes new episodes of Survivor, Big Brother and various sporting events.
