Facebook users have reported a new sound that appears while scrolling on the app on their cellphones. The noise is not a new feature but rather a temporary bug, according to META spokesperson Andy Stone, reports USA TODAY.

“Hearing a chirping noise while scrolling through your Facebook Feed on your iPhone? It’s not you, it’s us! And it’s an unfortunate technical error that we’re in the process of fixing,” Stone posted on X (formerly Twitter).

• Open the Menu by clicking the bottom right button of the Facebook app.
• Under Settings and Privacy, click the Settings button.
• Click the Media button under Preferences.
• Under Sounds, toggle the In-App Sound to off.
