After a 26-year hiatus, Alabama’s Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry are scheduled to kick off the 2023 June Jam concert in Fort Payne Saturday, June 3.
The show will be held at the Dekalb County VFW Fair Grounds at 1 p.m. and include a lineup of special guests expected to be announced at a later date.

June Jam’s original run went from 1982 to 1997. However, the Alabama bandmembers hope to solidify their hometown concert as an annual event.

More about Alabama
According to the band’s website, it’s been over 50 years since a trio of young cousins left Fort Payne, Ala. to spend the summer playing in a Myrtle Beach, S.C. bar called “The Bowery.”
It took Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and the late Jeff Cook six long years of tip jars and word of mouth to earn the major label deal they’d been dreaming of, but then seemingly no time at all to change the face of country music.
Throughout its career, Alabama reeled off 21 straight No, 1 singles. They brought youthful energy, sex appeal and a rocking edge that broadened country’s audience and opened the door to self-contained bands from then on, and they undertook a journey that led, 73 million albums later, to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
