How hot will it get in Alabama this week?
Alabama forecasters are anticipating more summer-like temperatures across Alabama this week, the last week of meteorological spring.
Highs on Tuesday were forecast to hit the mid- to upper 80s and even the low to mid-90s across the state (looking at you, Mobile, with a forecast high of 96 on the map above).
Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will be a degree or two “cooler” for parts of the state, according to National Weather Service forecasts.
On Wednesday, north Alabama will have highs in the low 80s while south Alabama is expected to be quite warm again, with highs expected to hit the low 90s.

Thursday could be more pleasant, with highs only expected to reach the upper 70s in parts of the state. Here’s Thursday’s temperature outlook:

The National Weather Service is expecting more highs in the 80s or low 90s through the weekend.
What about next week, which also includes the first few days of June?
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center thinks that there is a 33- to 40-percent probability that north and central Alabama’s temperatures will be above average. South Alabama has slightly higher odds: 40 to 50 percent.

Looking a little further out in time, the eight- to 10-day temperature outlook is predicting near-average temperatures for north Alabama, while central and south Alabama have slightly higher odds of above-average temperatures.

The first day of meteorological summer will be June 1. The summer solstice and beginning of astronomical summer will be June 20.
