How cold did it get in Alabama last weekend?

Alabama had a real taste of fall over the past weekend, and some of the nights got downright cold.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday night into Sunday morning was the coldest night over the widest area, and many areas in the state dropped into the 30s.

However, a few spots also hit the 30s last night, according to unofficial temperatures from the weather service. And they were not places you might expect: Eufaula, Evergreen and Prattville in the southern part of the state. Gadsden also got into the 30s for the second night in a row.

While the weather service is forecasting temperatures to not be as chilly over the upcoming week, NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is suggesting below-average temperatures will be possible through the middle of the month.

Here’s the 6- to 10-day temperature outlook:

Alabama could see more cooler-than-average temperatures from Oct. 14-18 (starting next weekend).

The 8- to 14-day outlook also suggests higher probabilities of cooler-than-average temperatures:
