How Alabama is rated in EA Sports College Football 25 video game
When EA Sports releases its College Football 25 video game next month, Alabama will be a force on the virtual field. The company released the game’s top 25 offenses and defenses on Thursday, and the Crimson Tide appeared high on both lists.
Offensively, the developers showed some early faith in Kalen DeBoer and Nick Sheridan’s ability to properly utilize Jalen Milroe and company. Alabama is ranked third offensively, a 91 in that category, behind just Georgia (94) and Oregon (91).
The Tide’s offensive attack will look different this season, with DeBoer bringing his high-powered system from Washington, where he led the Huskies to a national championship game appearance. Milroe appears set to be a force in both virtual and real-life games, appearing on College Football 25′s deluxe edition cover after earning Heisman Trophy votes in 2023.
On defense, Nick Saban’s departure will be obvious as UA adapts to a new system led by new coordinator and former South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack. Still, EA appeared to believe in both Wommack and the Tide’s defensive roster.
Alabama was listed as the No. 4 defensive team in the game. UA was listed as a 90 overall on that side of the ball.
Ohio State, which will feature former Crimson Tide safety Caleb Downs, led the way defensively with a 96 rating. Georgia is listed as a 94, while Oregon is listed as a 90 on defense, but still listed one spot ahead of Alabama.
Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan are also rated as 90s, but ranked behind Alabama.
The video game is scheduled to be released on July 19 for Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5. It’s the first EA college football video game since NCAA 14.
