Hottest temperatures of 2023 coming this week; how hot?

The heat will be across Alabama, with triple-digit highs in the forecast later this week.

The combination of heat and humidity will build through the week, with some of the hottest temperatures expected on Thursday and Friday, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.

But the first part of the week will be warm as well, and heat advisories have already been issued for parts of the state.

High temperatures today (Monday) are expected to top out in the low to mid-90s statewide, with west and southwest Alabama expected to be the hottest.

Then add in the humidity, and the “feels like” temperature will climb to 100 degrees or higher.

Look for more heat advisories to be issued for more of the state as the week goes on.

Here is a preview of temperatures expected on Thursday, which could be one of this week’s hottest days:

Several areas in Alabama could hit 100 degrees by Thursday. And that’s the air temperature, not the “feels like” temperature, which would be much higher.

Friday could even be hotter:

Friday highs

Many spots should reach 100 degrees on Friday in Alabama.

There will be chances for rain and storms to “cool” things off, but rain chances will be lower than they have been over the weekend.
