Hot chicken franchise’s first Alabama location coming to Vestavia Hills

California-based Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming this fall to Vestavia City Center.

Located near Pet Supermarket, the restaurant will offer a range of heat levels, from mild to “Reaper,” its ultimate heat level.

The restaurant also serves sides such as Kale Slaw, Mac & Cheese and crispy Fries or Cheese Fries.

The company last year announced a nine-unit development deal to build several restaurants in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Owner Tony Moyer said the opening “represents a significant step in our expansion journey.”

“We can’t wait to introduce our signature blend of flavors and spices to the local community, offering a unique culinary experience that we believe will quickly become a go-to destination for chicken enthusiasts throughout the area,” Moyer said.

In May 2017, four friends scraped together $900 to purchase a fryer, and served hot chicken tenders from their East Hollywood parking lot pop-up. Drake became a significant investor in the concept in 2021.
