Hoover woman killed in head-on crash on I-59 in Tuscaloosa County

A Hoover woman was killed in a weekend head-on crash in Tuscaloosa County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Quinita Banks. She was 42.

The wreck happened at 8:07 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 59, about one mile south of Tuscaloosa.

Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Banks was driving a Honda accord that collided head on with a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 34-year-old George Berthaut of Louisiana.

Banks was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
