Honda opens new $16 million Alabama accessory plant
Honda today opened what it calls a first-of-its-kind post-production option facility near its Lincoln manufacturing plant.
The $16 million, 66,000-square-foot facility will serve as a hub for installing accessory packages for vehicles produced at the Lincoln plant.
Honda’s Alabama Auto Plant (AAP) employs about 4,500 employees, and manufactures the Pilot and Passport SUVs, the Ridgeline pickup and the Odyssey minivan.
In December, Honda began production on the company’s 2023 Pilot SUV, it’s the first redesign for the three-row SUV in six years.
Honda has invested more than $3 billion in its Lincoln operations.
The plant has produced more than 5.7 million vehicles since it began production.
