Homewood residents to decide on ward reduction, council downsizing Sept. 24
On Sept. 24, the city of Homewood will hold a special election to determine if it will be changing the way its government works in the coming year.
If the plan is approved by residents, the city would bring on a full-time city manager and cut the number of council members down from 11 to 4. There will be one council member representing each ward of Homewood and the mayor would also hold the position of council president.
