HGTV cancels 4 shows in a week: Here’s what’s not coming back
Bad news HGTV fans – four popular shows got the axe this week, according to their stars, who passed the tiding onto their fans through social media.
“Farmhouse Fixer,” “Married to Real Estate,” “Izzy Does It” and “Bargain Block” will not be returning to the channel.
HGTV has not responded to requests for comment, according to People.
Jonathan Knight, who made it big first as a member of New Kids on the Block, gave the news to fans of Farmhouse Fixer:
” I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season,“ he wrote. ”While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons. Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what’s next for us.”
Co-star Kristina Crestin has not yet commented.
Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson of “Married to Real Estate” found out just as they returned from a family trip to the Mediterranean, according to their Instagram account.
Sherrod said they were “deeply grateful” to fans for “four incredible seasons.”
Keith Bynum of “Bargain Block” had the most critical comments. Bynum hosts the show with his partner Evan Thomas. He said the show had originally been greenlit for its fifth season.
Then came the axe.
“Everyone always told us TV is a fickle world and they are very right,” Bynum said. “TV is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered.”
According to People, Israel “Izzy” Battres had to break the news to a fan who asked about a premiere date for season 2 of “Izzy Does It,” writing “Unfortunately no Season 2.”
His show premiered in early February 2025.
In one response, according to House Beautiful, he wrote, “We won’t be returning for another season, but the support, the messages, the love—it’s all meant the world!”
