Herschel Walker accused of encouraging second woman to have abortion: ‘This is a lie’

Republican Senate hopeful Herschel Walker was cheered by supporters at campaign stops across north Georgia as attorney Gloria Allred announced a news conference with a second woman who claimed that Walker encouraged her to have an abortion despite his opposition to the procedure.

Walker was previously accused by another ex-girlfriend of paying for an abortion as a result of a pregnancy resulting from their relationship. Walker has called that claim a “flat-out lie.”

Walker boarded a campaign bus in Cleveland as word of the accusations broke, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution was unable to reach him for comment. At a stop in Dillard a few hours later, Walker dismissed the allegations.

“I’m done with this foolishness,” he said “I’ve already told you this is a lie, and I’m not going to entertain it.”

At both stops, he was joined by U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who has been a regular on the campaign trail in Georgia even as he fights a subpoena to appear before a grand jury in Atlanta

“I’ve seen this movie before,” said Graham, describing Allred as a “celebrity lawyer from California.”

In the hours before Allred’s press conference, Walker’s campaign scrambled to respond. At a stop in Dillard, he didn’t take questions from reporters and skipped his usual photo line with supporters. Walker also canceled a planned appearance on Todd Starnes’ radio show.

“What was the excuse, Grace? The bus broke down,” Starnes said.

“Yeah, his bus was broken down” executive producer Grace Baker replied.

“You know it happens. What are you gonna do?” Starnes replied.
