Here’s your 2025 Mardi Gras parade schedule for Mobile, coastal Alabama

Mardi Gras is sort of a moveable feast, and we’re in for a couple of big swings. For 2025, Fat Tuesday falls on March 4, three weeks later than 2024’s Feb. 13 date.

How much of a difference does that make? Quite a bit. In 2024, the region’s first major parade, the Krewe de la Dauphine, rolled on Dauphin Island on Jan. 13. The Conde Cavaliers kicked off Mobile’s downtown parade season on Jan. 26 and things were in high gear by the time Counting Crows played a rainy post-parade Senior Bowl concert on Feb. 3.

In 2025, there’s no football overlap. The Reese’s Senior Bowl will present the Eli Young Band in Cathedral Square on Jan. 31, and the Cavaliers won’t hit the streets of downtown until Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. That means NFL fans also will get the Feb. 9 Super Bowl out of the way before the parades roll.

Don’t get used to it. Fat Tuesday shifts all the way up to Feb. 17 in 2026 and Feb. 9 in 2027, meaning parades may start before you’ve packed away your Christmas décor.

The following information on major municipal parades is drawn from the City of Mobile’s Mardi Gras webpages, the Mobile Carnival Museum and various town and city websites. Additional parades will be added as dates are verified. To submit parades for possible inclusion, email details to [email protected].

Parades in downtown Mobile roll on Route A unless otherwise noted. For full details of the routes, visit www.cityofmobile.org/mardigras.
