Hereâs your 2024 Mobile-area Mardi Gras parade schedule
Mardi Gras means letting the good times roll. But exactly who’s rolling, where and when in 2024? To help sort that out, here’s a list of major parades in the Mobile area.
Key dates: Dauphin Island’s first parade takes place on Saturday, Jan. 13. Downtown Mobile’s first parade rolls on Friday, Jan. 26. Joe Cain Day is Sunday, Feb. 11, and Fat Tuesday falls on Feb. 13. Also note that on Saturday, Feb. 3, the Reese’s Senior Bowl will present a free Counting Crows concert in Mardi Gras Park after the evening’s parades.

2024 Mobile-area Mardi Gras parade schedule:
Saturday, Jan. 13: Krewe de la Dauphine, Dauphin Island, 1 p.m. Remember that as of last year, new tailgating rules apply along Bienville Boulevard. You’re not supposed to reserve space before sunrise on the day of the event, and you can’t mark off your turf with rope or tape boundaries. Once you’ve claimed space with parked vehicles, lawn chairs or canopies, at least one member of the party must remain on the scene. Sites should be fully cleaned up immediately after the parade.
Saturday, Jan. 20: Dauphin Island People’s Parade, 1 p.m. – Boats float, but can a boat be a float? Of course!
Friday, Jan. 26: Conde Cavaliers, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 27: Krewe of Salty Paws, Dauphin Island, 10 a.m. – Mardi Gras goes to the dogs, with a route that starts and finished near the water tower.
Saturday, Jan. 27: Bayport Parading Society, Mystic DJ Riders, downtown Mobile Route A, 2 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 27: Pharoahs Mystic Society, Conde Explorers, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 28: Massacre Island Secret Society, Dauphin Island, 6:30 p.m. This group’s tableau, more of an elaborate procession than a parade, puts a unique and spooky spin on Dauphin Island’s unique historical symbolism.
Thursday, Feb. 1: Order of Polka Dots, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 2: Order of Inca, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 2: Apollo’s Mystic Ladies, Daphne, 6:45 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 3: Mobile Mystics, Mobile Mystical Revelers, Mobile Mystical Friends, downtown Mobile Route A, 2 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 3: Mystic Mutts of Revelry dog parade, Fairhope, 3 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 3: Maids of Mirth, downtown Mobile, downtown Mobile Route G, 6:30 p.m. Note: Route G is just like Route A, but it starts and finishes at Conti and Broad streets.

Saturday, Feb. 3: Knights of Ecor Rouge, Fairhope, 6:45 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 4: Neptune’s Daughters, Order of Isis, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 5: Order of Venus, Order of Many Faces, downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 10: Krewe of Sparta Saraland Mardi Gras Parade, noon, on U.S. 43 starting at Bayou Ave. and ending at Jacintoport Blvd.
Saturday, Feb. 10: Krewe de Kaoz Foley Mardi Gras Parade, Heritage Park in Foley, 11 a.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10: Shadow Barons, Daphne, 6:45 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10: Mystics of Pleasure, The Marshals, et al. Orange Beach mystic societies roll at 5:30 p.m. “All parade routes on Perdido Beach Boulevard start at the traffic signal just east of Phoenix West and travel east ending at intersection at Highway 161 and Perdido Beach Boulevard, just past the Publix shopping center.”
Saturday, Feb. 10: Floral Parade, Knights of Mobile, Mobile Mystical Ladies, Order of Angels, Joy of Life, downtown Mobile Route A, noon-2 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10: Mystics of Time, downtown Mobile, Route H, 5:45 p.m.: Route H is the same as Route A except for a different starting point near the intersection of Government and Dearborn streets. This means it passes along a central section of Government Street three times rather than just two.
Sunday, Feb. 11: Abba Temple Motorcade, Route I, noon. This event starts at the Abba Temple Shrine on Hitt Road in west Mobile. Upon reaching downtown, it loops along Government, Church, Royal, St. Francis, Conception and Conti streets.
Sunday, Feb. 11: King Elexis I Motorcade, Route E, 2 p.m. This route starts near the foot of Government Street and heads west to Broad; makes a southward loop on Texas Street, Washington Ave. and Canal Street; then heads north on Broad, doglegs east on Spring Hill Ave. and continues north on Washington Ave.
Sunday, Feb. 11: Joe Cain Procession, 2:30 p.m., downtown Mobile Route A, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 11: Le Krewe de Bienville, downtown Mobile Route A, 5 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 12: King Felix III Parade, Floral Parade, downtown Mobile Route A, noon.
Monday, Feb. 12: MLK Business & Civic Organization, MLK Monday Mystics, Northside Merchants, downtown Mobile Route A, 3-4 p.m. starts. Route D parades start near the intersection of Congress Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. They proceed west along MLK to Lexington Ave. and return via St. Stephens Road, Spring Hill Avenue and Washington Ave. to finish near the start point.
Monday, Feb. 12: Order of Mystic Magnolias, Fairhope, 6:45 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 12: Infant Mystics, Order of Doves, downtown Mobile Route F, 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade, 10 a.m. The route begins at the intersection of Highway 59 and East Beach Boulevard (Highway 182) and will travel along East Beach Boulevard to the Gulf State Park Pier Road.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Order of Athena, downtown Mobile Route A, 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Knights of Revelry, King Felix III, Comic Cowboys, downtown Mobile Route A, 12:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Orange Beach Mardi Gras Parade, 2 p.m. “All parade routes on Perdido Beach Boulevard start at the traffic signal just east of Phoenix West and travel east ending at intersection at Highway 161 and Perdido Beach Boulevard, just past the Publix shopping center.”
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association (MAMGA) Mammoth Parade, downtown Mobile Route B, 2 p.m. Route B starts near Broad Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and begins with a westward loop along MLK Ave., Lexington Ave, St. Stephens Road and Spring Hill Avenue. It then moves through downtown on Government, Conti, Royal and Conception streets.
Tuesday, Feb. 13: Order of Myths, downtown Mobile Route C, 6 p.m. Route C starts and finishes near the intersection of St. Anthony and St. Joseph streets.
