Here’s what you missed in the Lede, your daily source for Mobile news

Last week, the Mobile Lede covered and broke several local stories. Here are just five examples of what you missed if you didn’t read the Lede last week:

· In our Sunday Q&A John Kilpatrick, founder of Vets Recover, a mental health organization in Mobile talked about how his organization is leading the charge to get veterans the help they need – and just how big a need there is.

· Lede reporter Margaret Kates asked 5 questions of Baldwin County State Sen. Chris Elliott in our new Political Connections series.

· Kates also continued her ongoing reporting on growth and development with a story about 400 new homes coming to a Baldwin County neighborhood.

· We got into the second week of the every-Friday Lede College Football Picks contest.

After much neighborhood discussion, the Mobile City Council decided to leave two venerable homes where they’ve been for more than a century – on Conti Street in the Old Dauphin Way Historic District.

There’s a lot more in every issue of the daily Lede. And each edition has a page designed to tell you how to navigate The Lede. It even has a cool YouTube video.

The Lede is a work in progress, and we’re making it better every day. We want to hear from you. Suggestions? Constructive criticism? Stories you’d like to see? Questions about your community? Something for us to look into that will make your life better? Send me a note at [email protected].
