More than $1.1 billion in new construction has started in the Huntsville area since the beginning of the year, and homebuilders are leading the way.

Homebuilders made up three of the top five construction firms in Madison, Limestone and Morgan Counties during the first six months of 2024, according to building permits pulled by Southern Exposure Information.
