Here are 5 developments approved by the Huntsville Planning Commission

The zoning approvals of three developments that could provide workforce housing were not the only actions by the Huntsville Planning Commission at its Nov. 21 meeting at City Hall.

Here are five other actions you need to be aware of:

1. Preliminary approval of 900-unit apartment complex

The Huntsville Planning Commission cleared the way for construction of the 900-unit Knox Creek Flats. The commission approved the layout at a previous meeting.

Huntsville City Councilman John Meredith voted against approval of the complex at the previous meeting. Meredith has said there are too many apartments in the city’s pipeline, and this one, north of U.S. 72 West and east of Holladay Boulevard, is in his district.

Knox Creek Flats is being developed by Edward Rose Millennial LLC, which has multiple apartment projects in Huntsville, Madison County and in Athens. Sain & Associates is the engineer.
