‘Hell yeah I’m playing’: Jihaad Campbell shares why he won’t opt out of bowl game
Alabama football linebacker Jihaad Campbell is not opting out of the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa.
He shared an enthusiastic approach to playing in the bowl game against Michigan after practice on Thursday.
“Hell yeah I’m playing,” Campbell said. “I didn’t even think about that. I wanted to play with my brothers. It’s another opportunity to showcase my talents and for everybody else to showcase their talents and all the hard work they put in.”
Campbell said there wasn’t a discussion about him playing or not playing.
“This is what I love to do,” Campbell said. “I have a passion for it. I have a competitive nature, so I can’t not play.”
Campbell is the No. 3 linebacker on ESPN’s draft board right now. Some in his situation could decide to opt out considering he has a chance to go high in the NFL Draft, and this game against Michigan doesn’t have any implications for the national championship.
But Campbell won’t be one of those players opting out. Quarterback Jalen Milroe also shared Thursday that he plans to play.
