Heat advisory for Alabama: How hot will it get?
The heat will continue to crank up in Alabama on Saturday, and heat advisories will be in effect for a big chunk of the state.
The National Weather Service is forecasting air temperatures to climb into the 90s today in central and south Alabama, and that combined with high humidity levels will send the heat index — or “feels like” temperature — as high as 109.
Here is the air temperature forecast for Saturday:
Highs are expected to top out in the 90s in parts of Alabama on Saturday.
There will be two heat advisories in effect for Alabama on Saturday:
*One heat advisory will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday for Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.
