Heat advisory affecting North Alabama until Monday night

On Monday at 1:31 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory in effect until 9 p.m. for Winston, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun and Cherokee counties.

The weather service comments, “Heat index values up to 108 degrees.”
