Head-on crash in Blount County leaves woman dead, man seriously injured
A woman was killed, and a man was seriously injured in a head-on crash in Blount County.
Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim Saturday as Kali M. Heaton. She was 31 and lived in Remlap.
The wreck happened at 7:33 p.m. Friday on Highway 79, about three miles southwest of Locust Fork.
Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Heaton was driving a Mazda 3 that collided head-on with a Ford Ranger driven by 44-year-old Joshua Cory Dean Carr of Arab.
Heaton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carr was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
