Have thoughts on Huntsville’s Old Big Cove Road development? Here’s when you can have your say

A town hall will be held Wednesday about a proposed development off Big Cove Road that has been compared to the Village of Providence.

The town hall will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at Residences at WellPoint at 2940 Mill Run Road in Owens Cross Roads. City Councilman David Little and representatives from T2 Capital Management, Urban Design Associates, Schoel Engineering and Matheny-Goldmon Architecture + Interiors will be present to discuss the proposed development at Cecil Ashburn Drive and Old Big Cove Toad.

A meeting was held in late June to get input from residents about a residential and retail development that is currently being called Village at Drake Farm.

Little said the development would be similar to the Village of Providence and would fit into the master plan for that part of Huntsville. The more than 80-acre site has been in the Drake family for generations, and the family has had several offers to sell the land through the years, the councilman said.
