Halloween midterms 2022: Democracy poisoned by Big Lie election deniers

Halloween is the best holiday of the year.

It’s also the best holiday for dark political cartoon references. So many options: Frankenstein. Zombies. Vampires. Mummies. Witches. Ghosts.

But we all know the real stuff is the scariest stuff.

Democracy. January 6. Our country was threatened by an egomaniacal wanna-be-authoritarian president who desperately tried to overturn the election he still refuses to admit he lost.

Roe v Wade. The economy. Inflation. Gun violence. Crime. The border. Medicare and Social Security. LGBTQ rights. Human rights.

Pick your poison. Just don’t eat the poison apples. Or bite into the conspiracy theory razor blades.

Vote.

Vote your heart. Vote your conscience. Vote your ghost’s conscience.

But if you lose, don’t whine and cry that the election was rigged.

That phrase has jumped the shark.

Happy Halloween.
