A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Sunday evening in west Birmingham.

The shooting happened at 6:47 p.m. at the Valero gas station.

The victim was taken by private vehicle to Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Officer Truman Fitzgerald said his injuries are life-threatening.

Patrol officers took a suspect into custody.

No additional details have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
