Gulf State Park unveils 20 new lakefront cabins now available for reservations
Gulf State Park officially opened new cabins Monday morning, marking the end of a major renovation project after damage caused by Hurricane Sally in 2020.
Chris Blankenship, the commissioner of the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), said he saw the previous cabins “decimated” after the storm when he flew down to assess the damage with Governor Kay Ivey. Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and the state were already in the process of making renovations and improvements to the park when the storm hit.
