Gulf Shores City Council could consider sludge pond application later this month

The Gulf Shores City Council could consider holding a hearing on a permit application for Baldwin County Sewer Service’s Fort Morgan wastewater treatment plant later this month, though they won’t be considering the application itself.

Late last year, BCSS filed in Baldwin County Circuit Court an appeal of the Gulf Shores Board of Zoning Adjustments’ decision not to ask the city council to consider a conditional use permit application for the Fort Morgan plant. In the permit application, BCSS asked the city to allow an increased capacity and officially sanction the onsite sludge pond.
